Leaked: Jeep Wrangler pricing information gets out ahead of launch

Ahead of its official release, it looks like the price for the new Jeep Wrangler has made its way out of Fiat Chrysler Automobile’s hands. According to a post on the JLWrangler forum, a user was sent information from a Jeep representative about the upcoming JK replacement’s price.

The sheet says that the JL Wrangler Sport will set you back $27,290 for the two-door and $31,090 for the four-door Unlimited models. For those heading to the Jeep page to see how much extra that is compared to the currently available JK model, it’s a $2,200 and a $2,100 bump, respectively.

Moving to the opposite end of the spectrum, the Rubicon starts at $37,490 and $41,290, with the two-door being the cheaper option. The Rubicon off-road will cost $2,750 more than the current model, regardless of door count.

The sheets also list the fuel economy and output for both the 3.6-liter V6 and the 2.0-liter I4. The V6 will drink 18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway while making 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 will do a little better: 21 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway, making 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. We’re a little disappointed that the I4 isn’t spitting the rumored 368 hp, but the 295 lb-ft of twist should help off-road.

These numbers look official, but there’s always wiggle room before the car officially hits dealer lots. That said, this should give you a good ballpark to figure how much the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon you’re eyeing will set you back.
