here Highlights: Huge cabin, big knobs for radio volume and tuning. There must be a ton of sound deadeners because this baby is quiet on the road. Steering is decent. A V6 in a truck this heavy might seem like a mistake, but no worries: plenty of power here, no lag; feels nice and torquey. The in-dash mpg meter said I averaged 17-plus mpg, so maybe there really is some eco going on here.

Base Price: $77,845

Our Opinion: It drives like it weighs every bit of 6,300 pounds — soft, smooth, lumbering. Word out of Dearborn is the next big Navigator changes come in 2017 when it rides on the new F-150 chassis and gets aluminum body panels. It seems like the marketplace is ready for something new. So far this year, the Nav outsells the Lexus LX, but the Cadillac Escalade, Benz GLS and Infiniti QX80 all beat the Lincoln.

Lincoln’s overall 2016 sales are up almost 15 percent, though, so there’s that.
